These Are the Most Expensive High Heels in the World

If diamonds are a woman’s best friend, what does that make high heels with diamonds or other precious gems adorning them? Women love jewellery and they are crazy for shoes. And they can spend the entire day shopping for shoes. Imelda Marcos has an impressive collection of over 3,000 shoes as does Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.
A good pair of high heels is worth any amount of money. So when you have a passion for shoes and money isn't a problem, you may end up buying a pair of high heels worth $3 million.
Ruby Slippers by Stuart Weitzman – Price: $1.6M

We begin our top 5 article with the Ruby Slippers, the 21st century version of the ‘Original Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers’.

Priced at $1.6 million, these high heels are encrusted with 123-carat 640 rare Burmese platinum rubies.
This Ruby Slippers design by Stuart Weitzman were intended to be revealed in 2003, but due to the war in Iraq, it was shelved and later on unveiled at Harrod’s in London.
Tanzanite Heels by Stuart Weitzman & Eddie Le Vian – Price: $2M

Next on our top list is another pair of shoes designed in 2006 by Stuart Weitzman in collaboration with renowned jewellery designer Eddie Le Vian. The stilettos had taken first place in the ‘Fashion Accessories’ category of the Tanzanite Foundation’s ‘Celebration of Life Jewelery Design Awards’.
Worth $2 million, the Tanzanite Heels are made of silver leather and precious tanzanite; a purple-blue colored gemstone discovered by jeweler Tiffany in Tanzania. The shoes feature 595-carat Kuwait diamonds, 28-carat diamonds and 185-carat tanzanite stones on the ankle strap.
And with that toe strap embellished with more precious gems, this stunning masterpiece looks more like a royal necklace than foot apparel!
But let’s face it who wouldn't want a pair of these in their closet?
Cinderella Slippers by Stuart Weitzman – Price: $2.2M

Inspired by Disney’s most beloved princess, Cinderella, this pair is valued at $2.2 million.
Italian made leather featuring 565 Kuwait diamonds set in platinum, also features a rare 5-carat Amaretto diamond with a value of $1 million.
At the 2004 Oscar Awards, Alison Krauss showed off a little bit with the expensive Cinderella Slippers.
Rita Hayworth Heels by Stuart Weitzman – Price: almost $3M

With a price tag of $3 million, the open-toed Rita Hayworth shoes are an amazing creation.

Inspired by Rita Hayworth’s favorite earrings, these shoes are made of burnt sienna satin and embellished with diamonds, rubies and sapphires.

Unfortunately these expensive high heels are not for sale.
Actress and singer Kethleen ‘Bird’ York wore the expensive high heels to the 2006 Academy Awards, and now they’re owned by Rita Hayworth’s daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan.
Ruby Slippers by Harry Winston – Price: $3M
To round out our most expensive shoes on the planet, the final pair comes from... (Drumroll please.)  Ronald Winston, the son of Harry Winston!
During the 50 year anniversary of the ‘Wizard of Oz’, these dazzling shoes were created in 1989 and featured 4,600 red rubies summing up 1.350 carats, and 50 carats worth of diamonds.  It took two months of non-stop work to get them done. Only the movie’s lead star, Judy Garland, has had the honor of wearing the most expensive pair of shoes in the world.
A shoe is not only a design, but it’s a part of your body language, the way you walk. The way you’re going to move is quite dictated by your shoes.’ – Christian Louboutin

What do you think?  Which pair is your favorite and are they worth the price tag???

Halloween is over and we are sure your little ones came home a ton of candy! Now, the real trick here is deciding what to do with it, besides the obvious choice of eating it all? (I say this, as I eat my 3rd tootsie roll!)  Now before you go overboard by indulging a little more than you should on those treats, check out these fun alternatives we found that you can do to put all that sugar to good use.
CANDY JEWELRY
This is such a fun activity you can do with your little ones.  We find the gummy candies work the best.

FREEZE IT AND ADD TO MILKSHAKES
This idea may not save you on the sugar calories, but will definitely get your kids excited about milkshake time!
Get the recipe here: My Baking Addiction
FOR ADULTS ONLY- PAIR IT WITH WINE (Like you need an excuse to have either!)  The chocolate, caramel, nuttiness of Snickers go great with tawny ports and the cookie-like Twix goes well with a smooth Scotch,  suggests StarChefs.com.
SAVE IT FOR YOUR KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY
Stuff it into the piñata or fill up the goodie bags .
